From 1987 the ensemble became known throughout Europe thanks to several record awards. The various concert masters of the ensemble were Andrea Keller, Patrick Bismuth , Fabio Biondi , Alice Pierrot , Anton Steck , Florian Deuter and now Thibault Noally .

In 1992 the ensemble opened the Versailles Baroque Music Festival with the opera Armide von Gluck . In 1993 they opened the new opera house in Lyon with Phaëton von Lully , in the same year they received a “Gramophone Award” for the best baroque vocal recording with the oratorio “San Giovanni Battista” by Stradella .

As part of the Salzburg Festival 2009, the ensemble presented a Haydn cycle in the Felsenreitschule .

In October 2016 the ensemble played at the Vienna State Opera . A new production of Armide was staged, sung in the original French version, staged and equipped by a French team composed of Ivan Alexandre (direction), Pierre-André Weitz (production) and Bertrand Killy (lighting), conducted by Marc Minkowski , with Gaëlle Arquez in the title role.

In 1996 the ensemble moved to Grenoble, also because of financial support from the city, after it merged with the local instrumental ensemble.
