Bertrand Killy

Bertrand Killy is a French lighting designer in drama and opera . Long-term collaboration since 2000 connects him with the film, opera and drama director Olivier Py .

Killy also works regularly with the directors Ivan Alexandre , Pierre Barrat and François Tanguy .

The first documented work is the lighting design for Fragments forains , a Woyzeck adaptation by François Tanguy in 1989 at Le Quartz in Brest. This production was then shown in Saint-Denis, at the Festival d'Automne in Paris and in Antwerp. In December 1993 he was involved in Tanguy's Choral at the Théâtre national de Bretagne in Rennes. This production toured a number of French cities in 1994 and 1995 and was also shown at the Festival d'Automne. In the team of director Matthias Langhoff for the production of Shakespeare's Richard III. at the Festival d'Avignon in 1995 he acted as régie générale .

In 1999 and 2000 two productions with the author and director Jean-Paul Wenzel were recorded: Loin d'Hagondange and Faire bleu at Les Fédérés in Montluçon and at the Théâtre national de Strasbourg . This production could also be seen in several other cities in France.

The collaboration with Olivier Py has taken the lighting designer to numerous opera houses across Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Geneva, Copenhagen, Lyon, Moscow, Munich, Strasbourg, the Theater an der Wien , the Edinburgh International Festival and the Festival d'Aix-en -Provence .

When the outfitter Pierre-André Weitz took over the first opera direction in 2015, Les Chevaliers de la Table ronde , an opéra bouffe by Hervé based on a libretto by Henri Chivot and Alfred Duru , Killy took over the lighting design. This production was developed at the Opéra national de Bordeaux and then shown at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and in many French small towns, including Massy, ​​Nantes, Angers, Rennes, Besançon and Limonge.
