Rosenbad in Stockholm

Rosenbad is the seat of the Swedish government and is located at the western beginning of the Strömgatan on the north bank of the Norrström in the Stockholm district of Norrmalm and opposite the Swedish Reichstag building ( Riksdagshuset ).

The Rosenbad block comprises four culturally and historically valuable buildings from the turn of the century based on plans by architects Gustaf Wickman , Aaron Johansson and Ferdinand Boberg . Rosenbad was used by the Swedish parliament until 1981. After a renovation, the Swedish Prime Minister moved into his office there, and cabinet meetings are held here. The Ministry of Justice is also here.

In the immediate vicinity along the Strömgatan road there are other culturally, historically and architecturally significant buildings, such as the Sagersche Haus , the official residence of the Swedish Prime Minister , the former Hereditary Prince's Palace ( Arvfurstens palats ), now the Foreign Ministry , and the Royal Opera . On the south side of the Norrström , next to the Reichstag building, is the Royal Palace , the official seat of the Swedish King Carl XVI. Gustaf .
