Development on the property has been known since the 1840s. After the Sager brothers acquired the house in 1880, they had a representative floor built in 1893 . The building was given the French Rococo style that it still has today. The house was owned by the Sager family until 1986 and was acquired by the Swedish state two years later. The building was extensively renovated and today has the status of a monument .
