Rosendo Álvarez

Rosendo Álvarez (born May 6, 1970 in Managua , Nicaragua ) is a former Nicaraguan boxer in light fly and straw weight .

Professional career

In 1992 he started his professional career successfully. On December 2, 1995 he boxed in the straw weight against Chana Porpaoin for the world title of the association WBA and won on points. He lost this title in his sixth title defense in November 1998 to Ricardo López by split judge decision.

On March 3, 2001, Álvarez was also WBA light flyweight world champion when he defeated Beibis Mendoza on points. He held this title until October 2, 2004.

In 2012 he ended his career.
