Rosendo González Carbonell

Rosendo González Carbonell (also Rossend González-Carbonell ) (* 1910 in Barcelona ; † 1984 ) was a Spanish painter .

Live and act

Carbonell was a student of the painter Bonaventura Puig Perucho . He studied at the Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sabadell with Mayoral and Antoni Alsina y Amils and attended the “Llotja” art academy in Barcelona. He was friends with the painter Alejandro Huerta Lucas. Carbonell painted oil paintings, mainly depicting female figures, but also portraits and landscapes. His works are characterized by the emphasis on volumes, pronounced chiaroscuro and balanced composition. Among other things, he exhibited at the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes in Barcelona in 1942 and 1944 . On the latter he won a prize for a portrait of his future wife.
