Rosie Thomas (* 1978 in Livonia ) is an American singer-songwriter from Seattle , Washington .

Life

She studied at the Cornish College of the Arts and toured with the band Velor 100 in the late 1990s before embarking on a solo career.

Through her participation in the song "Parking Lot" from Damien Jurado's album Ghost of David , the record label Sub Pop noticed her and signed her in 2000. Her debut album When We Were Small was released on January 22, 2001. On the album, Eric Fisher (whom Rosie Thomas met at the Seattle Performance Art School) played guitar and keyboards and Andy Myers played drums . The two were also featured on the subsequent album Only with Laughter Can You Win (2003).

Her third album, If Songs Could Be Held , was released in 2005. She also appeared as a stand-up comedian under the name Sheila Saputo . In March 2006, she was the indie rock label Paper Bag Records from Toronto invited with their title "Faith's Silver Elephant" on the compilation See You on the Moon! to contribute.

Her album These Friends of Mine was released on December 12, 2006. There are many songs on it with the participation of Sufjan Stevens .
