Autumn and wine festival
The autumn and wine festival is a folk festival in Radebeul, Saxony .
The festival on the village green of the Radebeul district of Kötzschenbroda , funded by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony , was revived in 1991 and has been enriched by the International Traveling Theater Festival since 1996 . The festival usually takes place on the last weekend in September and is chargeable on Saturday and Sunday, but free of charge for the opening events on Friday. On the village green of Altkötzschenbroda , an area with 40 architectural monuments , wine can be drunk in cellars and courtyards that are otherwise often inaccessible.
The festival is opened by the actor Herbert Graedtke , who plays Bacchus , the god of wine, for three days .
International traveling theater festival
Since 1996, the international traveling theater festival in Altkötzschenbroda has been held annually, the only theater festival of its kind in Germany. As part of the autumn and wine festival, locations directly on the Anger, such as the churchyard , the Luther hall , an inner courtyard of one of the many farms on the Anger , a tent, a wagon stage or the nearby Elbe meadows, are used for acting. The final fire work also takes place on the Elbe meadows, where part of the scenery traditionally goes up in fire.
For the XVII. International traveling theater festival 2012 were 50,000 visitors at the autumn and wine festival . In 2012 there were 61 theater performances by 18 ensembles. Every year a theme is given at the theater festival and since 1997 the audience's favorite has been identified and awarded through a survey of the audience. The theme of the 2016 festival was “Fools, Jugglers, Comedians”, which was requested by over 50,000 visitors.
