The Ross River is one of the main tributaries of the Pelly River in the Yukon Territory in northwestern Canada . It rises in the Selwyn Mountains and flows mostly in a westerly direction. Near the place of the same name, it flows from the right into the Pelly River, a tributary of the Yukon River . The Ross River is 280 km long. It drains an area of ​​7250 km². The king salmon ( Oncorhynchus tshawytscha ) spawns in the river system of the Ross River .
