The Rossini Point is a snow-covered headland on the south coast of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . To the southeast, it marks the entrance from the Ronne Entrance into the Bach Inlet .
The cape was first sighted and roughly mapped during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a new mapping in 1960 using aerial photographs taken by the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cape in 1961 after the Italian composer Gioachino Rossini (1792–1868).
