Rostislav Vojáček (born February 23, 1949 in Křenovice ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach .

player

Club career

Rostislav Vojáček played for Křenovice and Slavoj Kojetín in his youth. The tall man did his military service from 1968 to 1970 with Dukla Kroměříž and Dukla Tábor.

Vojáček then moved to Baník Ostrava , where he stayed until he retired in 1986. With Baník, the reliable defender won the Czechoslovak Championship in 1976, 1980 and 1981, and the Czechoslovak Cup in 1978. In the league, Vojáček played 381 games in which he scored 26 goals.

National team

Vojáček made his debut on April 7, 1974 in the Czechoslovak national team , which lost 1-0 in the Maracanã Stadium Brazil . In total he ran 40 times for the ČSSR, at the European Championship in 1980 he won the bronze medal with his team. He also took part in the 1982 World Cup, which was unsuccessful for Czechoslovakia , and it was to be his last appearance in Czechoslovak dress.

Trainer

After his active career, Vojáček worked several times as an assistant coach at Baník Ostrava in the 1990s . In the 1999/00 season he replaced Werner Lička as head coach in March 2000 , but has since worked as a youth coach at Baník.
