Křenovice , until 1923 Chřenovice (German Křenowitz , 1939-1945 Kschenowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers south of Milevsko in South Bohemia and belongs to the Okres Písek .

geography

Křenovice is located in the south of the Milevská pahorkatina belonging to the Central Bohemian hill country on the upper reaches of the Křenovický creek. The state road I / 29 between Písek and Tábor runs through the village . The Na Vartě (480 m) rises to the northeast, the Velké Mokří (519 m) to the southwest and the Petrův vrch to the west. To the east lies the Pilný pond. The forest area Křenovický les extends to the northwest.

Neighboring towns are Stehlovice , V Soudném, U Zárubů and Branice in the north, Veselíčko , Bilina and Jestřebice in the northeast, Kolíšov, Bernartice in the east, Bojenice in the southeast, Svatkovice, Rakov, Leveč, Ovčín, Kozí Hora and Horní Rastory in the south, Dolní Rastory and Podolí I in the southwest, Myslivna, Červená and Podolí in the west and Jižiny and Jetětice in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds of burial mounds from the Middle Bronze Age Bohemian-Upper Palatinate burial culture in Křenovický les and Petrův vrch prove that the area was settled at an early age. In 1897 a treasure consisting of two bronze bracelets, needles, 30 narrow gold ribbons and 618 amber pearls was found in the Na Pastvišti corridor, which also dates from the Middle Bronze Age.

The first written mention of the village took place in 1379 in a list of all archbishopric lordships commissioned by Archbishop Johann Očko von Wlašim . The register drawn up by the archbishop notary Jindřich Hezlín von Humpolec for the purpose of levying a special tax in support of King Wenceslas IV shows Křenovice with 13 Hufen and 20 farmsteads as one of the largest among the 33 villages in the Thein domain . On August 20th, 1415 Archbishop Konrad von Vechta had to pledge the rule to Jan von Sobětice as a result of mismanagement. In 1416 the pledge was completely transferred to him. After the Battle of White Mountain , the rulership was confiscated and returned as a whole to the Archdiocese of Prague by King Ferdinand II . In a register made in 1651 according to the faith it can be seen that Křenovice had only 44 inhabitants at that time, who were older than ten years. There were five farmers, a blacksmith and a Kretschmer in the village.

In 1840 Křenowitz consisted of 47 houses with 406 inhabitants. To the village belonged the layers Na Rastarých ( Horní Rastory ) with three Dominikal houses and W Gizinách ( Jižiny ) with three houses, including a manorial hunter's house. The pastor was Bernarditz . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subject to the archbishopric Moldau-Thein.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Chřenovice / Křenowitz 1850 a district of the municipality Podolly in the district administration and the judicial district of Pisek . On October 14, 1869, Křenowic broke away from Podolly and formed a separate community with the settlements of Horní Rastory and Jižiny. At that time the village had 562 inhabitants, who lived mainly from agriculture. In 1874 Rastory was reassigned from Podolí to Chřenovice. The official name of the municipality has been Křenovice since 1924 . 1949 Křenovice was assigned to the Okres Milevsko; after its abolition, she came to the end of 1960 písek district back, while the incorporation took place after Podolí I . After a referendum, Křenovice broke away from Podolí I on November 24, 1990 and formed its own municipality.
