Kožlí (German Koschli ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers east of Mirovice and belongs to the Okres Písek .
geography
Kožlí is located on the left bank of the Koželský creek in the Central Bohemian hill country. To the east is the Orlík reservoir , on the southern outskirts the ponds Horní koželský rybník and Dolní koželský rybník. The Udice rises to the north (418 m), the Chlum (502 m) to the south, the Krahulík (524 m) southwest and the Holý vrch (541 m) to the northwest. The village lies on the edge of the Orlík Castle Park.
Neighboring towns are Pukňov in the north, Velký Vír, Radava and Chrást in the northeast, U Hrobky in the east, Orlík and Staré Sedlo in the southeast, Višňovka and Probulov in the south, Králova Lhota in the southwest, Na Zeleném, Pod Homolí and Lety in the west and Šerkov, U Kuby and Závist in the northwest.
history
Archaeological finds prove an early settlement of the community area. To the north of the village there is a Slavic barrow field from the time between the 8th and 9th centuries.
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1396.
After the Battle of White Mountain , the estate of Peter von Schwanberg was confiscated and in 1621 the Eggenberg owners of the Worlik domain . After the male line of Eggenberg died out in 1717, the Schwarzenberg family inherited their property. In 1837 Kožly consisted of 20 houses with 159 inhabitants. The parish was Altsattel ( Staré Sedlo ). Until the middle of the 19th century the village remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Worlik, including the allodial estates Zalužan, Zbenitz and Bukowan.
After the abolition of patrimonial Kozlé formed from 1850 with the district Velký Výr a municipality in the district administration Písek and the judicial district Mirovice. In 1890 the village consisted of 23 houses and had 150 inhabitants. During the 1920s, President TG Masaryk and other politicians visited the U Nováků guesthouse several times .
Since the beginning of the 20th century the place name Kožlí and from 1948 Kožlí u Orlíka was used. The district of Velký Vír, located in the Vltava valley , was dissolved in 1957 when the Orlík dam was built and later flooded. 1964 Kožlí to Orlik nad Vltavou incorporated. On January 1, 1992 Kožlí u Orlíka broke away from Orlík nad Vltavou and formed the municipality Kožlí . The Velký Vír recreational area is located by the reservoir.

- Schwarzenbergská hrobka , neo-Gothic burial chapel of the 2nd Majorate of the Schwarzenbergs, east of the village in U Hrobky. The private chapel, which is not open to the public, was built between 1875 and 1877 and is a scaled-down partial copy of the Schwarzenberg family mausoleum near Třeboň . a. the remains of Field Marshal Karl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg . It was renovated in 2011.
