history

The first written mention of the place belonging to the Příběnice Castle was in 1379 as the property of the Lords of Rosenberg . In 1530 the Lords of Schwanberg bought the village. In 1551 Ulrich bought Bechinie von Lazan auf Bechin Přeštěnice from Wenceslaus von Schwanberg, but left it to the Milevsko Monastery . Even after Peter Wok von Rosenberg had acquired the rule of Bechin in 1569, Přeštěnice remained in the possession of the Premonstratensian monastery. After its abolition, Christoph von Schwanberg initially acquired the village in 1575, and later it went with the entire monastery property to the Hodějovský von Hodějov. After the battle of the White Mountain , the goods were sold to Bernard the Elder. J. Hodějovský von Hodějov confiscated and became part of the court chamber. This divided Přeštěnice into an upper and a lower village. The upper village was transferred to Strahov Monastery in 1623 for the rebuilt Milevsko Monastery and the lower village was sold to the Čabelický von Soutice. The latter sold Unter-Přeštěnice a little later to the Prague merchant Johann de Witte von Lilienthal, who added it to his Wopořan estate . Subsequent owners of Unter-Přeštěnice were from 1628 the Haslauer von Haslau , from 1658 the Count Slavata , from 1667 the Jesuit College of St. Trinity in Neuhaus and from the Prague Jesuit College to St. Clemens . The Prague Jesuits combined the Wopořan estate with other surrounding estates in 1727 to form the allodial rule of Wopořan and Bernarditz . After the Jesuit ban of 1773, the Clementinum's property was confiscated from the court chamber in favor of the study fund.

After the abolition of the Milevsko monastery in 1785, Ober-Přeštěnice became part of the Mühlhausen monastery , whose owner had been the Strahov monastery since 1681. Unter-Přeštěnice came in 1825 at the auction of the allodial rule Wopořan and Bernarditz to Prince Karl von Paar . In 1840 Přeschtenitz / Přesstěnitz consisted of a total of 20 houses with 199 inhabitants, of which 13 houses with 90 inhabitants were in Unter-Přeschtenitz . Parish for Ober- and Unter-Přeschtenitz was Mühlhausen, there was an inn in both parts. Until the middle of the 19th century, Přeschtenitz was always divided between the lords of Mühlhausen and Wopořan and Bernaditz.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Přeštěnice / Přeschtenitz 1850 with the hamlet Mlčkov a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district Milevsko / Mulhouse. Since the end of 1960 the community has belonged to the Okres Písek . At the same time Držkrajov and Týnice were incorporated.
