State road II / 105 runs east of the village between Milevsko and Petrovice .

history

Archaeological finds show an early settlement of the municipality, near Roudnice a burial ground was found.

The first documentary mention of Hrazany took place on June 6, 1373 on the occasion of a border dispute between the Vladiken Jaroslav von Vepice and the Premonstratensian monastery Mühlhausen , as a result of which a border was established by piles of stones between Nynkov and the Vysoká hora. The monastery was destroyed by the Hussites on April 23, 1420 . Then the Klingenberg burgrave Jan Hájek von Hodětín struck the orphaned monastery property, including Hrazany and Hrazánky, to the royal rule of Klingenberg. The origin of the place name is disputed; The altitude of the place speaks against the derivation of hráz ( dam ). The interpretations are based on the one hand on the predestined location of the village on a natural dam between the valleys of the Hrejkovický potok and the Brzina; on the other hand, the place name is associated with the family Herzan von Harras , since the grave of Dorothea Herzan von Harras is in Milevsko. After the Hussites besieged Klingenberg Castle in 1430, King Sigismund pledged the rule to Ulrich II von Rosenberg in 1431 because he feared that his burgrave Kunata Kapléř would soon overflow to the rebels. Heinrich V von Rosenberg , who had taken over the indebted rule in 1472, sold a quarter of the properties of the House of Rosenberg on September 28, 1473 , including the Klingenberger Pfand, to his cousin Bohuslav V von Schwanberg . From 1488 Hrazany was under the lower jurisdiction of the judge in Níkovice. There is evidence of a judge in Hrazany since 1562. On September 14, 1575, Emperor Sigismund sold the lordships of Klingenberg and Worlik to Christoph von Schwanberg , and Hrazany, Hrazánky, Kojetín and Dobrošov were listed alongside other villages. In 1579 Georg von Schwanberg gave his share of Klingenberg to the Worlik reign. In a further division of the Schwanberger inheritance, Hrazany fell together with Pechova Lhota, Klisín, Dobrošov, Hrazánky, Mašov and Kovářov in 1584 to Johann Georg von Schwanberg on Worlik. In 1617 the manorial office of Kovářov was divided and another office was set up in Hrazany. The villages of Hrazany, Dobrošov, Klisinec, Mašov, Kojetín and Klisín were subordinate to the judge in Hrazany. After the Battle of White Mountain , the estate of Peter von Schwanberg was confiscated and in 1621 the Eggenberg owners of the Worlik domain. In the Berní rula of 1654, Hrazany was listed as an impoverished village. After the male line of Eggenberg died out in 1717, the Schwarzenberg family inherited their property. In 1837 Hrazan consisted of 16 houses with 136 inhabitants. The parish and school location was Petrowitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Hrazan remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Worlik including the allodial goods Zalužan, Zbenitz and Bukowan.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hrazany / Hrazana formed from 1850 with the districts Dobrošov, Hrazánky, Kojetín and Mašov a municipality in the district administration Písek and the judicial district Milevsko. In 1884 the Hrazany municipality decided to build its own school. After the building permit had been accidentally granted for Hrazánky, a dispute broke out in the community over the school location. The building permit was then revoked. In 1889 the residents of Hrazánky built a school on their own initiative and wanted to set up a branch of the Petrovice school in it. Schooling in Hrazánky finally started in 1900. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1910. Between 1912 and 1914 the road between Hrazany and Vepice was built. From 1919 the municipality belonged to the Okres Milevsko. In 1923 the mayor of Hrazany, Jan Jiří Krejčí, declared the school in Hrazánky to be an independent single-class village school in the municipality. In 1930, 140 people lived in the 24 houses of Hrazany. Between 1930 and 1932 the road to Milevsko was built. Kojetín and Mašov broke away in 1954 and together with Porešín formed the municipality of Kojetín. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Milevsko, Hrazany was assigned to the Okres Písek in late 1960 . In 1964 Klisinec was incorporated.

In the 1991 census, the village of Hrazany had 85 inhabitants. The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1998. In 2001 there were 32 houses and 80 people in the district of Hrazany.
