The Hrejkovický potok (German Hrejkowitzer Bach or Hreykowitzer Bach ) is a right tributary of the Vltava in the Czech Republic .
course
The Hrejkovický potok rises 150 m north of the pond Ždír in the Votická pahorkatina ( Wotitz Hills ) belonging to the Central Bohemian Hills . Its source is located between the villages of Vladyčín, Dobrá Voda, Vepice and Ve Struhách. On its upper course leading south through the Milevská pahorkatina ( Mühlhausen hill country ), the brook flows through a shallow valley past Vepice and Peštův Mlýn, where it is dammed in several ponds. The Zážitkový park Zeměráj ( Nature Adventure Park Zeměráj ) is located near Budař at Hrejkovický potok , and the game reserve Pekárkův mlýn extends south to Pekárkův Mlýn. This is followed by the places Pechova Lhota, Mlýn Kotaška, Žebračí, U Košky, Níkovice, Hrejkovice and Chlumek along the stream , where the Hrejkovický potok takes a south-westerly direction. From Laciny the Hrejkovický potok flows south again. His further course leads through Velká and past Osek , Svatý Jan and Hamr into the Květovská obora ( Květov game reserve ). The villages of Květov and Vůsí lie along the lower reaches of the Rukáveč game reserve, which runs in a kerbal valley in the Kopaniny forest area . On its last section, the Hrejkovický potok forms a two-kilometer - long valley flooded by the Orlík reservoir . After 20.2 kilometers, the Hrejkovický potok flows into the Vltava at Červená II .
history
The water power of the Hrejkovický potok was previously used to power numerous mills. The stream was dammed in numerous ponds along its upper and middle reaches. The lower valley of the Hrejkovický potok was flooded by the Orlík reservoir in 1963.
During the flood of 2013 , the stream overflowed its banks. Velká was particularly affected, where the stream flooded the lower parts of the village square. Below Vepice, the flood of water broke into the granite quarry on the left side of the stream and caused it, including the technology inside, to drown.
