Žďár (German Schdiar ) is a municipality with 237 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers north of Protivín on Žďárský potok at 374 m above sea level. M. and belongs to the Okres Písek . The community area is 3100.3 ha.
geography
The place is located in the wide valley of the Blanice and its tributaries. To the east are the mountain ranges of the Písecké hory (Pisek Mountains), the Vysoký Kamýk (627 m) with its observation tower is five kilometers away.
Neighboring towns are Tálín in the north, Paseky and Nuzov in the northeast, Žďárské Chalupy in the southeast and Myšenec in the southwest. Europastraße 49 passes to the west of the village .
history
The place Žďár already existed in the 13th century. In the southern part of the village there is a stone with the Bohemian lion and the year 1282, which is a sign that the village was only liable to the king. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1460.
After the abolition of patrimonial Žďár formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Myšenec in the district administration Písek and the judicial district Vodňany . On September 29, 1881 Žďár broke away from Myšenec and formed its own municipality, at the same time the place was transferred to the judicial district of Písek. In 1929 a grave site from the time of the Celtic settlement with 23 urns was found in the gravel pit .
Community structure
The districts of Nová Ves u Protivína ( Neudorf ) and Žďárské Chalupy ( Chaluppen ob Schdiar ) as well as the hamlets of Medenice, Malé Chalupy, Pařezí and Zelendárky belong to the municipality of Žďár .
