Roter Rain is a residential area in the district of Külsheim in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

The living space is located north-northwest of Külsheim and can be reached via the street of the same name, Roter Rain .

history

Kapelle am Roten Rain (former Wolferstetter chapel)

In 1973, a chapel in the abandoned hamlet of Wolferstetten near Külsheim was demolished stone by stone and rebuilt true to the original at the Roter Rain residential area. In the chapel there are again two replicas of the well-known candlestick angels by Tilman Riemenschneider . The originals of these angels were sold by the Wolferstetter Hofbauern on March 22, 1912.

Small monuments

The following small monuments are located at the living space:

  • Small memorial No. 09 (Külsheim): wayside shrine. The wayside shrine from 1575 is at the emigrant farms on the "Roten Rain". It is made of one piece.
  • Small monument No. 62 (Külsheim): Chapel at the Roten Rain. Wayside chapel. The chapel was consecrated on August 11, 1974 by Pastor E. Landwehr. On the front there is a stone with the year 1764 from the former Wolferstetter chapel.
  • Small memorial No. 65 (Külsheim): wayside shrine. The Berthold Väth family had a wayside shrine erected in front of their house on Roten Rain. It is a Maria with a child. The wayside shrine was inaugurated on October 2nd, 1988 by Pastor Sack. Inscription: MATER HABEBIT CURAM. B.VÄTH ANNO 1988.
