Rotger Schunde

Rotger Schunde (* in the 14th century; † February 2, 1431 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

The sources do not provide any information about the origin of Rotger Schunde. It is certain that the Canon Heinrich Schunde was his relative. Rotger was first mentioned in a document on April 5, 1383 as a canon of Münster. In July 1387 he was named as the cathedral sexton. On behalf of Bishop Otto von Hoya , Rotger was to take over Ovelgönne Castle from the nobleman Johann von Solms in 1396. In the same year he received a papal commitment to a canon in St. Martini in Münster . He retained this office until his death. He had with the acquisition of the office as provost at St. Martini on Domnküsterei waived .
