Roundstone ( Irish Cloch na Rón - the seal rock ; locally common, called Cloch Rainte, with the same meaning) is an Irish village with 207 inhabitants (2006) in County Galway , on the southwest coast of Connemara . Roundstone is approximately 15 km from the town of Clifden . It is a popular tourist spot with many handicraft shops, known for its views across the bay to the Connemara Mountains and regattas with the traditional Galway hookers .
