The Roviva Roth & Cie. AG ( company Roth & Cie AG ) is a Swiss manufacturer of mattresses and bedding in Wangen an der Aare in canton Bern .
The family business emerged from a horsehair spinning mill founded by Johannes Roth in 1748 . With the Bilten company Riposa founded in 2000, it is one of the last two mattress companies in Swiss hands. Roviva is known as a “nationally known traditional brand”.
In 2007, Roviva produced 70,000 mattresses and 45,000 insert frames . In 2018, 120 to 150 mattresses and 100 insert frames were produced per day, 92% of which were sold in Switzerland and 8% were exported. 60 employees worked in the company in 2018.
The sole owner and managing director of Roviva in the ninth generation has been Peter Patrik Roth since 2001. After Roth's connections to the right-wing extremist milieu were reported in 2019, for example to the right-wing extremist fashion label White Rex , the wrestler Curdin Orlik announced that he would no longer extend the advertising partnership with Roviva. In his letter of resignation as chairman of the Oberaargau trade association, Roth distanced himself from any right-wing extremist ideas.
