The Rowley Lake is a lake in Lancashire , England . The lake is on the eastern edge of Burnley in the Brun Valley Forest Park . The lake was created in the 1970s as part of the renaturation of a former garbage dump . The River Brun flows into the lake in the south and leaves it in the north. The lake is used for fishing and is a breeding ground for numerous birds.
