The River Brun is a watercourse in Lancashire , England . It arises from the confluence of Rock Water and Hurstwood Brook southeast of Burnley . It flows north through Rowley Lake before turning west and flowing through Burnley, where it crosses under the Leeds and Liverpool Canal . It flows into the River Calder at the junction of the B6434 road from the A679 road in Burnley .
