The Hurstwood Brook is a watercourse in Lancashire , England . It arises from the confluence of the Smallshaw Clough and two unnamed tributaries east of Burnley . It flows west and flows into the Hurstwood Reservoir at its north end. It leaves the reservoir in the south-west and flows in a south-westerly direction. When it meets the Rock Water , the River Brun is created .
