Roxanna Panufnik

Roxanna Panufnik (born April 24, 1968 in London ) is an English composer of Polish origin.

The daughter of the composer and conductor Andrzej Panufnik studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music . She composed operas, ballets and drama music, choral works, orchestral and chamber music, film and television music, which have been performed worldwide.

Her best-known works include the Westminster Mass (for the Westminster Cathedral Choir ), the harp concerto Powers & Dominions , Letters from Burma (for the oboist Douglas Boyd ) and the Vellinger String Quartet , the ballet Leda for the English National Ballet , Wratislavia Cantans and Abraham (commissioned by violinist Daniel Hope ), the oratorio Dance of Life (in Latin and Estonian, for several Tallinn choirs and the Tallinn Philharmonic Orchestra ), Four World Seasons (for violinist Tasmin Little ) and the London Mozart Players , and Memories of my Father (2014, for the Brodsky Quartet ). Panufnik is Associate Composer for the London Mozart Players .
