Roxanne Atkins

Roxanne Atkins ( Edna Roxanne "Roxy" Atkins, married Anderson; born June 26, 1912 in Montreal , † September 6, 2002 in San Francisco ) was a Canadian hurdler .

Over 80 m hurdles , she finished fourth at the British Empire Games in London in 1934 and was eliminated from the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin .

In 1935 and 1937 she was Canadian champion over 80 m and 90 yard hurdles, in 1935 US indoor champion over 50 m hurdles. She set her personal best in the 80 m hurdles of 11.9 s on July 7, 1934 in London (Ontario) .

After their marriage, she moved to the United States in 1946 . She took US citizenship and worked as a trainer and sports official. In 1991 she was inducted into the USA Track & Field Hall of Fame .
