Roy "Chubby" Brown (actually Royston Vasey , born February 3, 1945 in Grangetown, Redcar ) is a British comedian , actor , screenwriter and musician . He describes himself as the "rudest and most unfriendly" comedian.

biography

Brown left the steel industry town of Grangetown, where he was born, at the age of 14. After a casual gig as a comedian in the 1970s, his blue period began, in which he appeared completely dressed in blue. His manager had recommended this strategy to him in order to stand out from the otherwise often clean-looking colleagues on the competitive comedy market . After initially having problems getting the audience enthusiastic, he succeeded even better. He made jokes about himself, but also about male inadequacies, which was particularly popular with women, who made up a third of his audience.

In the mid-1990s, Brown was a guest on Smokie's re-recording of her hit Living Next Door to Alice , which was released as Who the F ** k Is Alice? Reached number three in the UK and number 18 in the German charts . He added a few spoken lines to the song. A second chart success followed in December 1996 with the Christmas single Rockin 'Good Christmas . The song peaked at number 51 in the UK. The albums Take Fat and Party (1995) and Fat Out of Hell (1996) also made it into the UK charts.
