Roy Hesketh
Roy O. Hesketh (* 1915 in Pietermaritzburg , South Africa ; † September 19, 1944 , crashed over the Great Bitter Lake , Egypt ) was a South African motorcycle and automobile racer and officer.
Lieutenant Roy Hesketh died in an airplane collision in Egypt during World War II . The international Roy Hesketh Circuit in Pietermaritzburg , which opened in 1953, was named after him.
He was buried in a military cemetery in Fayed, Egypt .
