Roy Jacobsen

Roy Jacobsen (born December 26, 1954 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian writer.

Life

Jacobsen made his debut in 1982 with the collection of novels Fangeliv . He has published novels, short stories and children's books. Jacobsen is respected and successful as an author in Norway. Critics praise his ability to amalgamate historical events with the fate of ordinary people, psychologically substantiated and legible.

In 2009 he was involved in the script for the film Walhalla Rising . In 2017, the English translation of De Usynlige ( The Unseen ) was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize .
