Royal Canin is an international French manufacturer and distributor of dog and cat food .

Companies

The company, founded in 1967 by veterinarian Jean Cathary, is headquartered in Aimargues in the Gard department . In 2002, Royal Canin was bought by the Mars Incorporated group of companies , but remains on the market as an independent brand.

Royal Canin had a turnover of 1.5 billion euros in 2008 with 4,500 employees, more than 80% of which outside of France. Internationally, Royal Canin is represented with branches in 90 countries. In Europe, the company is the market leader in the field of health food for dogs and cats.
