Rolla is a small town in the US state of Missouri and the county seat of Phelps County . Rolla has around 16,000 inhabitants and is located at the foot of the Ozarks .
The city is home to the University of Missouri - Rolla, one of four University of Missouri campuses that specialize in mining.
Rolla has had a partnership with the Thuringian city of Sondershausen since 1998 . A production facility for the pet food company Royal Canin is located in Rolla .
