The Royal Ocean Racing Club ( RORC ) is an English sailing club and organizer of numerous offshore regattas, such as the Fastnet race or the Middle Sea Race .

The club was founded in 1925. The name of the Royal was still missing at the time, the application for it was rejected by the British Home Office in 1929. However, King George V was an active and avid sailor, and so the club received its full name in November 1931.

The main office is at 20 St. James's Place near Green Park in the heart of London . Another clubhouse, the Disrespect, is in Cowes on the Isle of Wight .

RORC as a regatta organizer

The RORC is closely associated with Seahorse Magazine and the RORC Rating Office .
