Royston Greenwood

Royston Greenwood (* 1944 in Bradford ) is Telus Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Alberta in Canada , where he also serves as Vice Dean . In addition to this professorship, he holds the Novak Druce for professional Service Firms - Visiting Professorship at Said Business School at the University of Oxford .

Career

After studying various subjects and subjects, Greenwood received his PhD from the University of Birmingham , Great Britain , in 1976 with a thesis in which he applied findings from the Aston Group to local governments. The subject developed after meeting Bob Hinings in 1972 , which sparked his interest in organizations and the processes of change in more efficient forms. Until 1980 Greenwood worked mainly in Great Britain. In 1982 he finally accepted a visiting professorship at the University of Alberta. His academic work is reflected in over 75 articles and 32 books.

Research interests

In his research, Greenwood was interested in the dynamics of change processes in organizations and the management of commercial service organizations and start-ups. Greenwood prefers the perspective of institutional theory. His preferred empirical research area are service organizations.

Honors

In 2009 Greenwood was appointed a Fellow of the Academy of Management. In 2013 Greenwood was made an honorary member of the European Group for Organizational Studies .
