Ruadrí, 1st Earl of Mar (also Ruadri or Rotheri , † after 1132), was a Scottish nobleman .

Life

Few details are known about his life: He is considered to be one of the first Scottish aristocrats for whom the transition between the old Celtic tribal system and the new idea of feudal territorial rule can be traced: His is on the founding deed of Scone Abbey from 1114 Find the name Rotheri with the Gaelic name Mormaor ; on a document from Dunfermline Abbey from 1128, he appears as a witness to the signature of King David I under the anglicised title of earllis .
