Ruan Ji
Ruan Ji阮籍 (* 210 ; † 263 ) was a Chinese poet from the Wei empire who worked during the Three Kingdoms . After the coup by Sima Yi , he had to flee the capital Luoyang . Ruan Ji was one of the seven wise men from the bamboo grove ; Xi Kang , for example, was part of this group . However, Ruan Ji differed from this especially in that he lived as a hermit for a long time and firmly adhered to Daoism , which at that time was mainly represented by Wang Bi , whose student he also became. In his poems he creates images of mourning and transience.
