Rubia (dog)
The bitch Rubia , a then 2 year old Golden Retriever , reached the top of America's highest mountain , Aconcagua in Argentina , at 6,959 meters on January 19, 2004 as part of a study on the effects of height on dogs . So she holds the world record.
She was accompanied by her owner, Marc Ortega, 34 years, and his friend Carlos Valverde, 51 years. Both are members of the CEP (Center Excursionista Parets in Parets del Vallès). Many television stations at home and abroad reported on the sporting performance of the Spanish bitch and showed the summit picture.
