In 1942, the Planitz team won the Saxon Gaume Championship and thus qualified for participation in the final round of the German championship. There Planitz advanced to the quarter-finals, Voigtmann were used in all three matches of the final round. At the beginning of 1943 Voigtmann was invited by Reich coach Sepp Herberger to a preparatory course for the planned international match in Spain. Because of the declaration of “total war” , neither the Spain game nor any other international matches came about until the end of the Second World War .

Dresdner SC

After the Planitzer SC could not defend its Gaumeistertitel in 1943, Voigtmann switched to the new German champion, the Dresdner SC, for the 1943/44 season. He won the Gaume Championship again in 1944 and was then German champion for the second time. Voigtmann played all five final round matches and scored five goals. In the final he laid the foundation for the 4-0 victory over LSV Hamburg with the 1-0 goal.

Planitzer SC

After the end of the Second World War, Voigtmann returned to Planitz and participated in the rebuilding of football, which was continued in the SG Planitz after the ban on Planitzer SV .

Hamburger SV

In the summer of 1947 Voigtmann moved to Hamburger SV , where he played two games in the Oberliga Nord .

TuS Neuendorf

He then left Hamburg again and joined TuS Neuendorf in October 1947 , who played in the Oberliga Südwest. At the end of the season he reached the finals of the German championship for the third time in his career with the Neuendorfers. TuS started with a 2-1 win in the quarter-finals and lost to 1. FC Kaiserslautern with a 5-1 win in the semi-finals. Voigtmann was used as a striker in both games, but remained without a goal. In 1950 TuS Neuendorf reached the final tournament again, retiring with Voigtmann as a half right striker after the first game (0: 4 against FC St. Pauli). Voigtmann reached the final round of the German championship for the last time in 1956, for which TuS Neuendorf had qualified as Southwest runner-up. With two defeats and one draw, however, Neuendorf did not survive the qualifying round. Voigtmann played all three games as a right winger and scored his last goal in the 3: 3 against Hannover 96. After leaving the championship finals, Voigtmann ended his career as a football player at the age of 35.
