Rudiobus
Rudiobus is the name of a Celtic god in mythology who is mentioned in a single dedicatory inscription .
Location
During quarrying work in Neuvy-en-Sullias ( Cenabum / Aureliani , Roman province Lugdunensis ; Loiret department ) several Gallo-Roman bronze statuettes were discovered: a horse, a deer, three wild boars and nine human figures. The bronzes were apparently only intended to be temporarily hidden in the underground room where they were found.
The inscription was found on the base of the prancing bronze horse. This bronze find was also dedicated to other deities - including Gallic interpretations of the Roman god Mars . The name Rudiobus probably has a connection with the color red.
