Rudolf Alfred Jaumann
Rudolf Alfred Jaumann (born May 1, 1859 in Pilsen , † June 11, 1923 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian painter of Czech descent.
Jaumann studied from 1875 to 1878 at the Prague Art Academy , from October 12, 1878 to 1883 in the natural class of the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Ludwig von Löfftz and in 1881/82 with Hans Makart in Vienna . After that he was employed at various drawing schools. In 1886 he visited the Netherlands . Between 1892 and 1908 and from 1919 he lived in Salzburg-Maxplan.
Jaumann initially painted portraits, genre and hunting pictures as well as allegorical compositions. Later he mainly created alpine landscapes. In addition to painting, he also worked as a book illustrator and modeled bronze animals.
Rudolf Alfred Jaumann was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Munich Academy.
