Rudolf Bärtich

Rudolf Bärtich (born June 24, 1876 in Mannheim , † 1947 in Dresden ) was a German violinist and Saxon court concertmaster.

Rudolf Bärtich was a son of the court musician Edmund Bärtich, who taught him violin and piano playing as well as harmony. At the age of 6 he appeared in public for the first time, studied violin as a high school student with concertmaster H. Schuster and at the age of 14 became first violinist of the Grand Ducal Baden Court Theater Orchestra. Bärtich continued his violin studies with Professor Hermann in Frankfurt am Main and was hired by the Wiesbaden Royal Orchestra.

From 1898 to 1900 Bärtich was concertmaster with the Berlin Philharmonic . From 1900 to 1940 he was the first concertmaster of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden . Bärtich taught violin at the orchestra school of the Saxon State Orchestra .

Bärtich formed together with Otto Wunderlich (second violin), Richard Rokohl (viola) and Walter Schilling (cello) the Bärtich Quartet . With the Dresden pianist Walther Bachmann and the violoncellist Arthur Stenz , Rudolf Bärtich formed the piano trio Bachmann, Bärtich, Stenz , which regularly gave concerts in the Dresden Neustädter Casino .

Bärtich also worked as a composer, so he composed pieces for harmony music (including a " Capriccio ", overture ) and songs for voice with piano accompaniment.
