Rudolf Erdös

Rudolf Erdös (born July 29, 1876 in Sereď ; † October 7, 1935 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Rudolf Erdös came from a Jewish family and was born in what is now Slovakia. No documents are available about his training. He only becomes tangible again in 1905, when he is documented as an architect in Vienna. Until the First World War he ran a successful architecture office, after the war he made a living from brokerage, commercial agencies and accommodation for foreigners. Until his death he lived in the Hotel Carlton, which he built on Wiedner Hauptstrasse .

Rudolf Erdös worked as an architect for the upper class. His buildings are committed to historicism and are characterized by a representative appearance. Secessionist currents are only rarely reflected in his work.
