Rudolf Feyler

Rudolf Feyler (Latvian: Rūdolfs Feijlers) (born June 17 . Jul / 29. June  1870 greg. In Riga , Governorate of Livonia ; † 13. April 1949 in Halle (Saale) ) was a Baltic German painter and decorator in Riga.

Life

Rudolf Feyler lived and worked in Riga until the Baltic Germans were resettled in 1939. As a young man he lived temporarily in Poland, where he met his wife Stefanie. As a result of the resettlement following the Hitler-Stalin Pact , he ended up in the Warthegau intended for the Baltic Germans .

Here his track is lost. Another picture from 1944 "View of Riga" is known.

From newspaper reports it can be seen that Feyler was active as a decorative painter. The press praises his new ideas in the design of the rooms of the Riga trade association.

In addition to his work as a decorative painter, he made a living from selling his paintings.

A painting "Rīga ar Daugavu" from 1919 appeared on the market in 1984.
