Rudolf Forsthuber

Rudolf Forsthuber (born April 6, 1899 in Salzburg ; † September 9, 1953 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and printer. From 1945 to 1949 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Forsthuber attended elementary and middle school in Salzburg and subsequently graduated from a commercial training school in 1914, where he learned the profession of printer. He served between 1917 and 1918 in the First World War and was then a member of the Salzburg People's Army between 1918 and 1920 and of the Austrian Armed Forces from 1920 to 1925 . After the end of his career as a soldier, he worked as a typesetter from 1925 to 1944 and as a functionary of the union of book printers and newspaper workers in Salzburg between 1925 and 1938. After the Second World War, in 1945 he found a job with the general local health insurance fund in Salzburg .

Forsthuber represented the SPÖ between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949 as a member of the National Council, and from 1949 to 1951 and from 1952 to 1953 he was SPÖ club chairman and councilor in Salzburg. Within the party, he worked as district chairman of the SPÖ Salzburg-Stadt and as a member of the SPÖ state party executive. He was also the president of the Salzburg Football Association and ASKÖ Salzburg.
