Rudolf Franksen
Ide Julius Rudolf Wilhelm Franksen (* 1864 in Oldenburg (Oldb) ; † February 9, 1913 there ) was a German lawyer and consular officer.
Life
Franksen began to study law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1882 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Freiburg . When he was inactive , he moved to the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen . In 1886 he passed the legal traineeship exam. In 1890 he became a court assessor in Celle , later in Oldenburg and Zellerfeld . He came to the Foreign Office as an assessor . In 1893 he entered the consular service. From 1886 to 1900 he was Vice Consul in Saint Petersburg , then until 1902 in the same position in New York City . In the meantime, he was acting consul in Kiev (1899) and Montreal (1900). In 1902/03 he was chargé d'affaires at the legation in Haiti . In 1904 he returned to the AA for five months until he was sent to Montreal as consul. From there he came to New York City as Consul General . He died at the age of 47. His son of the same name (* 1908) died in World War II .
