Rudolf Friedrich (physicist)

Rudolf Friedrich (born November 17, 1956 in Stuttgart ; † August 16, 2012 in Münster ) was a German theoretical physicist and professor at the Wilhelms University of Münster .

Friedrich was born in Stuttgart in 1956, where he later studied physics . In his diploma thesis as in his dissertation he dealt with problems of synergetics . After completing his doctorate, he worked with Hermann Haken at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Stuttgart .

Friedrich received his habilitation in 1992 with a thesis on dynamic structures in synergetic systems and was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Stuttgart in 1999 .

In 2001, Friedrich accepted an appointment at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster.
