Rudolf Bella
Rudolf Friedrich Martin Bella (born December 7, 1890 in Sibiu , Transylvania , † July 14, 1973 in Romanshorn ) was a Hungarian composer.
Life
Rudolf Bella was the son of Ján Levoslav Bella , who worked as an organist in Sibiu for several years. In Vienna he studied composition with Eusebius Mandyczewski and orchestral conducting with Franz Schalk . From 1921 to 1924 he was a conductor in Czernowitz , from 1925 to 1939 in Ravensburg and Romanshorn . Bella corresponded with the music theorist and music critic Heinrich Schenker .
Bella composed three operas , a symphony in E major, two symphonic poems: Over a Grave and Autumn , a string fantasy, chamber music works, organ and piano pieces, an oratorio , a requiem , choral works and songs .
