Rudolf Gabriel Manuel (born April 3, 1749 in Bern , † October 16, 1829 ibid) was a Swiss historian and economist .

Manuel was 1771 Under feudal Commissioner , 1783 Welsch Oberlehen Commissioner and 1785 Bernese cantonal parliament , which he was later 1816th In 1798 he fled the French to Stuttgart and went bankrupt .

He dealt with history and the natural sciences, was a member of the Economic and Natural Research Society, and published a mineralogical description of the Hohentwyl area in 1805 . Back in Bern from 1816 onwards he dealt with alpine farming and cheese-making , and in 1828 he wrote the essay Comments on the older and newer prices […] (published by AG Roth 1973).
