Rudolf Geißler (politician)

Rudolf Geißler (born April 18, 1958 in Tschurndorf ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and social worker. Geißler was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 2010 to 2015 .

Geißler graduated from the humanistic grammar school in Mattersburg in 1976 and studied at the Academy for Advanced Social Work in Vienna. He completed his training in 1978 as a qualified social worker . Geißler subsequently worked as a social worker and as a senior clerk in the youth welfare service at the Oberpullendorf district administration . In the political field, Geißler was Deputy Mayor of Oberpullendorf until 2006 , after which he took over the office of Mayor. He is also ÖVP city party chairman of Oberpullendorf, ÖVP district party chairman and district chairman of the ÖAAB . From June 24, 2010, Geissler represented the ÖVP in the state parliament, where he held the function of the ÖVP area spokesman for social affairs and health and was deputy chairman in the social committee.

Geißler lives in Oberpullendorf. He has been married since 1982 and has a daughter (* 1982) and a son (* 1984).
