Tschurndorf ( Hungarian : Csóronfalva ) is a cadastral municipality of the market town of Weppersdorf in the Burgenland district of Oberpullendorf in Austria . The place was an independent municipality until 1971.
history
In 1527 Tschurndorf appears for the first time in a document as the founding of the then lord of the castle of Kobersdorf , Hans Tschuramb (Hungarian Csoron ). According to a historical theory, however, it is likely to be a repopulation of a village that was founded around 1225. As part of the Kobersdorf rule, it shared their eventful history for several centuries .
In 1954 a brick bell tower was built by the Protestant daughter community ( AB ) Tschurndorf (which belongs to the Protestant Protestant community Kobersdorf ). The Protestant prayer room was renovated in 2009 and 2016.
In 1971, the previously independent communities Kalkgruben , Tschurndorf and Weppersdorf were merged to form the large community of Weppersdorf.
In 1998 the fire station of the volunteer fire brigade was rebuilt.
The Catholic branch church, built in 1953, was renovated in 2017/18.
The outside area of the cemetery, the mortuary, the war memorial as well as the Marterl ( wayside shrine ) have been modernized and partly redesigned.
