The Evangelical Lutheran parish church Kobersdorf stands at the southern end of the market in the municipality of Kobersdorf ( Croatian : " Kobrštof ", Hungarian : " Kabold ") in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It belongs to the Superintendent of Burgenland .

history

According to the inscription above the east portal, the church was built as a tolerance prayer house in 1785 and rebuilt and expanded in 1856. The east tower was also built in the course of the renovation. A renovation took place in 1953/54.

Architecture and equipment

The church is a single-nave, flat closed hall building with an east tower. This neo-Gothic tower is octagonal on the upper floor and crowned with a pointed helmet. The tracery portal is neo-Gothic. The flat ceiling of the ship rests on pilasters . Two columns support the straight gallery.

The altar, created around 1680, comes from the former hermit monastery of Wandorf . After the dissolution of this order, it was acquired at auction in 1796 and transferred here as a gift. The high black and gold structure of the altar has cartilage ornamentation and twisted columns. The altarpiece shows the crucifixion of Jesus, painted by Stefan Dorfmaister from Sopron in 1787. The top picture shows the resurrection . Figures of King David and Moses can be seen to the side.

The black and gold pulpit was built in the second half of the 18th century. The figure on the pulpit lid shows Jesus as a good shepherd.

Johann Mendel created a bell in 1833. It is still in use today and bears the inscription “Alles mit Gott!”. In
1921 a second bronze bell was purchased, which, however, had to be surrendered during the Second World War.
In 1949 a second bell could be purchased to replace the one that had been melted down. This bears the inscription "Glory to God in the highest" and weighs 494 kg.
In 1963, a third bell was finally purchased to complete the ringing. This bell (1,100 kg heavy) bears the inscription "The Lord's will be done - thank the Lord!" The bells ring in the tones e '- gis' - h'.

The church has two organs. The disused organ on the gallery dates from 1870 and replaced an earlier instrument from 1793. The new organ in the chancel was built in 2001 and has 20 stops, divided into two manuals and a pedal.
